John Swift is
a mature, well-balance Professional, who has spent many years at high levels in the software and manufacturing industries.
He has several senior memberships of the trade bodies (Chartered Institute of Management, British Computer Society). The last
12 years have been spent running his own software company and now running a number of similar organisations.
Experience
For the last 12 years John has been the Managing Director of Chairman Software Ltd and later Artisan Brandt PLC, providing
software and services to a wide variety of UK businesses, from Import / Export companies, through Estate Agents and fully
functional Manufacturing systems to companies with turnovers of £ 1M to £ 100M.Until 1998 John had worked for many Corporate
Blue Chip companies (GEC Marconi, Phillips Industries, and ITT) acting in the Project Director role in many of these businesses,
but wanted to try to run a company for himself. A considerable amount of this experience has been gained overseas while developing
world wide solutions for some of these businesses.Prior to 1985 John’s career included
time as a senior consultant with a worldwide consulting firm based in London and San Francisco USA, working on assignments
all around the world. Following an education in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
Personal
John has a strong sense
of duty, manifested in his early involvement with the local colleges and further-education establishments, involving the development
of training programmes to prepare students for work in the local area. He became Chair of a University Liaison committee to
help provide better prepared students for Industry.John and his wife also provide emergency relief care for the local social services organisation for children
who are “In Care”.
